Unexpected

- The Latner’s seem a perfect family, all with their long blonde hair swinging over their shoulders, their bronzed skin shining with the sun and their light blue eyes dazzling everyone’s gaze. They played tennis every day and got excellent grades. I repeat, they seemed like the perfect upper class American family, but there was Amber, the black sheep, the ugly ducky, you name it.

- She was a sweet sixteen year old with a long life ahead of her, but it just took one night, one bottle of vodka and adolescent hormones to change her life completely. Elisa was pregnant. What would she say to her parents? They would freak out. They care a lot of what the other rich families say. Amber was going to be the subject of all next social gatherings.

- She was going to have that kid, she just knew that. Even though it was her mistake, she said she’d be responsible of that kid inside of her.She was very scared, but she told her parents. They got really annoyed; she was always getting grounded because she was a very wild girl, very spontaneous too. They knew something like this would happen to her if they didn’t take care of her.

- She didn’t care a bit of what they said.Amber thought of that kid as a blessing to her. She never asked for it, but now that she had it, she loved it. She will miss a lot of other stuff teens do, but she had to take care of the baby.. Everyone makes mistakes, she said. If she had to learn the bad way, well, it’s just the way it goes.

- Her nine months were very rough. She had to go out of school and stay at home. Her family didn’t like the situation, they still believed aborting or giving in adoption would be better solutions. When the kid was born, everything changed. It felt like the kid softened the family’s hearts. They loved the kid so much, they regretted everything they said. Maybe things go wrong and something unexpected comes along, but you just have to flow with it.
